Richard Valentine works mainly with Film Photography Ultra Large Formats 11×14 and 14×17,Large Formats 4×5 and 8×10 and Medium Format 6×6, mostly black and white silver gelatin film, somecolor negative film, and some transparency film. His black and white fine art consists ofone hundred percent analog methods, from image capture to darkroom printing, to includeUltra Large Format contact prints, and Medium and Large Format projected prints with anOmega D2 enlarger from the 1950’s. All his darkroom chemistry is eco-friendly, and heemploys methods which considerably reduce water usage. All his Photography equipment
is vintage cameras and lenses, which includes Petzval lenses from the 1870’s and 1890’s,process lenses from the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s, and cameras from the 1920’s to the 1970’s. Richard Valentinedoes not do digital imaging (usually referred to as “digital photography”). He is currentlyin the process of teaching himself wet plate collodion photography.
